Saint-Boniface – Where It’s Cool to say Bonjour!

Two-day summer getaway in Winnipeg's French neighborhood.

May to September

St. Boniface, Manitoba, recognized as the capital of French-Canadian history in western Canada is also home to its largest francophone community, first settled in 1818 to meet the cultural and religious needs of the Red River Colony’s French and Métis inhabitants. A Francophone presence was thus established in the region before spreading throughout much of the future province of Manitoba. St. Boniface is at the heart of the community’s rich history. Generations later, this neighbourhood of Winnipeg thrives with unique and historic architecture, successful businesses, a variety of attractions and a lively cultural scene.
