Culinary Tour

The Winnipeg culinary scene is truly unique, as it is a product of not only the varied regional ingredients available from Manitoban fields, forests, lakes and wetlands, but also of the many ethnic cuisines that are represented and shared by Winnipeg’s multicultural residents. With one of the highest ratios of restaurants per capita in Canada, Winnipeggers love to cook and they love to eat – so why not join in the fun?

Itinerary:

  • Start your tour at the well-known and well-loved local bakery Tall Grass Prairie, where you’ll have a hand in preparing your own bread using organic ingredients grown right here in Manitoba.
  • Next, you’ll take a tour of a local craft brewery, where you’ll be taken behind the scenes and shown the ropes, while sipping great local ales and lagers along the way.
  • Lunch at a charming venue with a typically Manitoban menu will follow, but make sure to leave room for dessert
  • As your final stop will be at renowned local chocolatier Constance Popp’s chocolate shop, her chocolates featured at events such as the 2010 Olympic Games and the Golden Globe® Awards, Constance herself will take you through the fascinating processes of making and tempering chocolate, and perhaps even share some of her secrets with you as you sample the confectionary jewels her chocolate shop offers.

Whether you eat to live or live to eat, get your hands dirty and let your taste buds run wild on this delicious tour!
